As the seasons turn and the year begins its quiet descent, October invites us into one of the tenderest parts of the decluttering journey: sentimental items.

These are the objects that hold our memories - photos, letters, heirlooms, gifts, mementos from travels, childhood treasures. They are often the hardest to face because they carry our stories, our history, and sometimes our grief.

This month’s theme is:

Sentimental Items — Honouring What Matters Most

Unlike other categories, sentimental things are not about utility or frequency of use. They’re about meaning, love, and identity. Which is why letting go—or even choosing how to keep - can feel so emotional.

Sentimental decluttering is not about erasing the past, but about making space for what truly still resonates, and allowing our homes to hold the memories that matter most.
