Six months ago, my father-in-law passed away.
In the months that followed, my husband spent five full days clearing out a storage unit. Not because anyone had done anything wrong, but because life gets busy, difficult conversations get postponed, and decisions quietly accumulate over time.
This experience reminded me of something I see again and again as a Master KonMari Consultant and End-of-Life Doula:
Legacy decluttering isn’t really about death.
It’s about love.
It’s about preserving stories, reducing future burdens, and making life a little easier for the people we care about.
